Police Department

The mission of the Overbrook Police Department is to provide the highest level of law enforcement services to the community we serve. The Police Department enforces all state laws and local ordinances and investigates crimes occurring in the city. The Police Department also provides animal control and code enforcement services.

The Police Department also provides fingerprinting services for citizens. Fingerprinting can be done Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:00 PM. Call (785) 665-7230 to set up a time. Fingerprinting is free for Overbrook residents and $10.00 for non-residents.

The Police Department is also a designated drug drop off location. Expired prescription medications can be dropped off Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:00 PM for disposal.

The Overbrook Police Department transports all arrested persons to the Osage County Jail located at 702 Ash St., Lyndon, KS 66451. The Jail can be reached at (785) 828-4991.

All impounded animals are transported to Carbondale Veterinary Clinic located at 416 N. Topeka, St., Carbondale, KS 66414. Carbondale Veterinary Clinic can be reached at (785) 836-7212.

Overbrook Municipal Court is held the third Friday of each month at 10:30 AM at Overbrook City Hall (401 Maple St.). If you need to speak to the Municipal Court Clerk, please call (785) 665-7230 between 8:00 AM and 2:30 PM Monday-Friday. The Municipal Court Prosecutor is Pat Walsh of Burns, Burns, Walsh and Walsh. The Police Department is staffed by a full-time Chief of Police, one full-time officer, a full-time Police/Municipal Court Clerk and four part-time officers.
